Floral Friday is more than just a celebration of flowers; it’s a chance to show off our region’s love for this iconic event with an enthusiastic “welcome to spring!”
On Friday 18 September, we want the Toowoomba region to burst into bloom — a living, breathing canvas of colour, community pride and unbridled carnival spirit, with colourful blooms absolutely everywhere!

Through participating in Floral Friday, participants will be able to: Celebrate seasonal & cultural heritage — Understand the meaning of Floral Friday as the official launch of Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers; recognise how the community marks spring and honours Toowoomba’s identity as Australia’s renowned Garden City. Experience community pride & belonging — Appreciate how individuals, businesses, and neighbourhoods come together to create a city-wide celebration; see how collective effort transforms public spaces into a shared display of colour and joy. Connect nature, creativity & place — Explore how flowers and gardens can be used to express welcome, celebration, and local identity; understand how nature shapes the look, feel, and spirit of a community. Inspire appreciation of flowers & gardening — Encourage interest in growing, displaying, and enjoying flowers; recognise the beauty and role of plants in enhancing public spaces, homes, and shared environments. Understand community partnership & involvement — Learn how local organisations (such as Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre) collaborate with the community to bring events to life; appreciate the value of working together for shared celebration. Participate actively in public tradition — Recognise that everyone can contribute to a city-wide event; experience how individual action adds up to create something spectacular and unifying.
