For Stage 2, students develop reasoning and interpersonal skills through structured gameplay. Relevant outcomes include MA2-2WM (uses appropriate terminology to describe and represent mathematical ideas), MA2-3WM (recognises and explains mathematical relationships using reasoning), PD2-6 (understands the importance of persistence and resilience in learning), and PD2-10 (demonstrates self-management and social skills in group activities). For Stage 3, learners deepen strategic thinking and collaborative problem-solving. Outcomes include MA3-2WM and MA3-3WM (extend mathematical reasoning and communication), PD3-6 (applies persistence and resilience in learning contexts), and PD3-10 (demonstrates respectful communication and teamwork). The chess workshop fosters cognitive growth, respectful competition, and personal development in a real-world learning environment.
