NIDA’s School Holiday Workshops offer immersive drama experiences tailored for young learners. Students explore character creation, storytelling, voice, movement, and ensemble work in a professional theatre setting. Led by experienced educators, the workshops foster confidence, collaboration, and creativity. Ideal for homeschoolers, these sessions align with curriculum goals while providing a vibrant, real-world arts experience.

The Arts/ Craft

This excursion supports the NSW Creative Arts syllabus, specifically Drama. For Stage 2, students engage in imaginative role-play and performance to explore ideas and emotions. Relevant outcomes include DRAS2.1 (takes on roles in drama to explore imagined situations), DRAS2.2 (builds dramatic meaning through performance techniques), DRAS2.3 (responds to drama experiences and performances), and DRAS2.4 (recognizes drama’s contribution to cultural understanding). For Stage 3, learners deepen their expressive skills and collaborative storytelling. Outcomes include DRAS3.1 (uses drama to explore and communicate ideas), DRAS3.2 (applies performance techniques to shape meaning), DRAS3.3 (reflects on drama experiences), and DRAS3.4 (understands drama’s role in society and culture). The NIDA workshops offer a rich, real-world context for developing creativity, confidence, and critical reflection through performance.
