World of Waterbugs is an interactive freshwater ecology experience that introduces children to the small aquatic organisms living in local freshwater environments.

Participants take a close-up look at freshwater macroinvertebrates, commonly known as waterbugs, and explore how these organisms can provide important clues about the health and condition of rivers and wetlands.

Through hands-on observation and discussion, children discover the connection between aquatic life and the wider freshwater ecosystem. The activity encourages curiosity about local biodiversity while helping participants understand how scientists can use living organisms as indicators of environmental health.
