What is improv? I’m glad you asked.

Improv is theatre without a safety net. There are no scripts and no predetermined outcomes, just performers stepping into the unknown and building something together in real time. The stakes are only as high as you want them to be. Every moment matters, but nothing matters at the same time. It’s spontaneous, unpredictable, and completely unique to the audience in the room.

Throughout the show, you’ll see a mix of short, high-energy games and longer, story-driven scenes. And the best part? The audience - yes, YOU - plays a vital role. When you hear “Can I Get a Word?”, that’s your cue to shout out suggestions that will shape everything that follows. A single word could inspire an entire world.

The goal? To look like you know what you’re doing when neither you nor anyone else in the room knows what happens next.

Led by a talented cast of four improvisers, the show brings together fresh perspectives and dynamic performance styles. Among them is emerging producer and performer Riddhi Dua, whose passion for creating playful, collaborative theatre is at the heart of this event. Together, the ensemble creates a space where anything can happen - and usually does.

As they say, art imitates life… or is it the other way around?Whether you’re a long-time comedy lover or completely new to improv, Can I Get a Word? is an invitation to let go, speak up, and enjoy the chaos. So come along, bring your ideas, and be part of something completely made up, right on the spot.
