Together we’ll chat graphic novels, learn comics basics, and then make, photocopy and swap our own mini-comix zines in a relaxing morning of comics exercises.
You can work with one of Lu’s prompts, or bring your own idea. A love for drawing and comics is recommended, no experience necessary. Let’s ink!
Mini Comix Makers with Lu is a creative storytelling workshop designed for teens aged 13–18 who are interested in drawing, illustration and visual storytelling. Participants will learn how to plan, design and create their own mini comic, exploring characters, panels, sequencing and narrative structure.
Through guided activities and creative prompts, teens develop skills in visual communication, creative writing and illustration while expressing their ideas and personal style. The workshop encourages imagination, confidence and experimentation in a supportive environment, making it suitable for beginners as well as young people with more experience in drawing or comics. Students leave with their own handmade mini comic and a deeper understanding of how stories can be told visually.
