Cross Stitch for Teens – Switch Keychain is a relaxed and creative holiday workshop designed for young people aged 13–18 to learn traditional embroidery skills in a modern, practical way. Participants will be guided through the basics of cross stitch while creating a personalised keychain suitable for a Nintendo Switch or everyday use.
The workshop encourages focus, patience and creativity, while developing fine motor skills and an appreciation for handmade craft. Teens will learn how patterns are followed, how design choices communicate personal style, and how textile techniques can be adapted for contemporary products. This calm, supportive session is ideal for beginners and those with some crafting experience, offering a mindful and rewarding creative experience.

VAS5.3 – Makes artworks informed by an understanding of how the frames affect meaning. VAS5.5 – Makes informed choices to develop and refine artworks. PD5-8 – Plans, implements and evaluates strategies to promote health, safety and wellbeing. Stage 6 (Years 11–12) (Visual Arts / Textiles / Design pathways) H1 – Initiates and develops ideas in the making of artworks. H2 – Uses the forms and techniques of visual arts to make artworks according to intentions. H5 – Demonstrates conceptual and practical understanding of the visual arts in the making of artworks. PHD12-10 – Develops and evaluates strategies to promote health, safety and wellbeing in everyday life.
