IZBA Learning Hub is hosting a mechanics workshop based in Kellyville.

Would you like your teen to learn about:
- car and road safety?
- how to check the oil level and change a tyre?
- the safety of using e-motor bikes/e-scooters?
Then look no further! 🤩

What a great opportunity for parents to enjoy a couple hours of free time while the kids are learning a new life skill! 🙌

Science

Relevant NESA Science Outcomes & How They Connect SC4-10PW — “Describes the action of unbalanced forces in everyday situations” Use when exploring how a car moves, friction in tyres, force required to turn a wheel, or forces acting when changing a tyre. SC4-11PW — “Discusses how scientific understanding and technological developments have contributed to finding solutions to problems involving energy transfers and transformations” Relevant for talking about how engines, lubricants, or mechanical systems improve efficiency and safety. SC5-10PW — “Explains energy transfer through kinetic and potential energy in a range of situations” (in Stage 5) Useful when discussing engine power, vehicle acceleration and deceleration, or energy lost through friction. SC5-11PW — “Explains how energy conservation and efficiency are relevant to everyday situations” This applies to how a well-maintained tyre or correct oil reduces energy loss and improves performance. SC5-8WS / SC5-10WS (Working Scientifically outcomes) — the skills of planning investigations, collecting & analysing data, drawing conclusions — embedded in all Stage 5 science work.
