Science
The 3D Print Club & Robotics Maze supports multiple NSW learning outcomes across stages and subject areas. In Science and Technology, students explore digital design and problem-solving through outcomes such as STE-DDT-01 (Early Stage 1), ST1-DDT-01 (Stage 1), ST2-DDT-01 and ST2-DDT-02 (Stage 2), and ST3-DDT-01 and ST3-DDT-02 (Stage 3). The event also engages Mathematics outcomes like MA2-9MG (Stage 2) and MA3-9MG (Stage 3) by encouraging measurement and spatial reasoning in hands-on tasks. Additionally, it fosters critical and creative thinking, ICT capability, and personal and social skills as students collaborate, design, code, and navigate real-world challenges in a playful setting. Students in Stages 4–5 apply design thinking and problem-solving processes to develop creative solutions using digital technologies such as CAD software, robotics, and 3D printing (TE4-1DP, TE4-3DP, TE5-1DP, TE5-3DP). They generate, communicate, and refine design ideas through 3D modelling tools, prototype construction, and file preparation for digital manufacturing (TE4-10TS, TE5-10TS). Students also explore the ethical, environmental, and societal impacts of emerging technologies, critically evaluating how innovations like programmable robotics and additive manufacturing influence modern life (TE4-9MA, TE5-9MA).
